- read technical drawings and use them to determine the machining sequence and machining processes
- program CNC-controlled machine tools and set them up
- manufacture and inspect workpieces based on technical drawings
- can handle materials and auxiliary materials, assign and differentiate between them
- evaluate technical drawings and documents
- monitor and optimize production processes
- maintain and repair equipment, machines and tools
- recognize production disruptions and quality defects
