Daniel, EDM as an employer you would…
Daniel Wand: … I would definitely recommend it! We work here in a relaxed atmosphere, everyone gets enough time to familiarize themselves with new tasks and projects and no one is left alone.
HOW DID YOU GET TO EDM
Daniel Wand: Through my brother, who did his apprenticeship here. He always talked enthusiastically about his work at home. And I quickly realized that this could also be the right thing for me. I’ve been working at edm since 2009 and successfully completed my apprenticeship as a cutting machine operator (specializing in milling) in 2014.

YOUR DAILY WORK ROUTINE DESCRIBED IN THREE WORDS IS…
Daniel Wand: … varied, exciting and challenging.
WHAT ARE YOUR TASKS?
Daniel Wand: I create CNC programs based on drawings and working documents, set up machine tools and check manufactured parts. In short, I do everything that is big and heavy. I operate the large machines and manufacture large parts. In special machine construction, we only produce individual parts or small batches; there is no series production at edm. That was one of the reasons why I chose this company. I didn’t want a monotonous job where I had the same parts in my hands every day, but wanted to work on and learn something new every day. That way it never gets boring.
AND WHAT IS THE WORKING ATMOSPHERE LIKE?
Daniel Wand: Very good! I get on well with all my colleagues and there’s no one in the team you can’t ask for help. At edm, team spirit comes first.

The word “family business” takes on a new meaning: Beate Ruwisch’s brother, sister-in-law, cousin and son were already working at edm Dreiling and edm aerotec – and then she became part of the team in 2012.
