DETOURS TO EDM AEROTEC

Beate Ruwisch

"I manufacture all the carbon parts required for helicopter construction, for example rotor blades and parts of the landing gear."

PART OF THE FAMILY

The word “family business” immediately takes on a new meaning: Beate Ruwisch’s brother, sister-in-law, cousin and son were already working at edm – and then she became part of the team in 2012. “I actually didn’t want to because of the family ties, but then I somehow got stuck,” says the 48-year-old and laughs.

She now wouldn’t want to miss her work in the carbon department at edm aerotec. She manufactures all the carbon parts required for helicopter construction, for example rotor blades and parts of the landing gear.

EXCITING PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Quite unusual for Beate Ruwisch, because she actually learned something completely different. “I completed a three-year apprenticeship in a butcher’s shop, then I had my three children and then worked in retail.” Was her new start as a career changer a challenge? “It definitely was. But I’m incredibly proud of my varied job! That I can now mill, drill and glue! And that I’m playing my part in the development of the helicopter. Hopefully I can stay here until I retire!

„My assembly trips are always an exciting time. And it’s this close contact with customers that keeps me going.“
